At Nancledra School, our day is carefully structured to balance high-quality learning with plenty of time for play, creativity and connection.

Our school gates open at 8:25am, when children and families are warmly welcomed by the Head Teacher and other staff members. This calm and friendly start to the day allows children time to play, chat with friends and settle in before lessons begin at 8:45am.

We have a morning break from 10:30 to 10:55am, giving children the chance to recharge with a healthy snack and enjoy outdoor play. Our playgrounds offer a safe, engaging space for games and conversation, and children of all ages mix happily—fostering friendships across year groups and encouraging a strong sense of community. Our outdoor disco every Monday is always a highlight!

Lunchtime runs from 12:00 to 1:00pm, and many of our older pupils enjoy the opportunity to eat their packed lunches outside, even during the colder months—so a warm coat is always a good idea! After lunch, there is time to play, relax, or take part in quieter activities before afternoon learning begins.

The school day ends at 3:15pm for Year 3 to 6 and 2:55pm for Reception to Year 2, when children are collected by parents and carers. Our staff are always available at the end of the day for a quick chat or to share news and updates, continuing the strong home-school partnerships that are central to life at Nancledra.

For families who require regular childcare beyond the school day, we provide wraparound care from 7:30 to 5:30 to support busy parents and carers.
