Stories are at the heart of learning. They help us make sense of the world, which is why our curriculum is rich with them—through reading, writing, and across subjects. From discovering the lives of great artists to learning about scientists who changed the world, stories bring learning to life.

To form our own ideas, we need to know the best that has been thought and said—past and present. Our children encounter inspiring figures from diverse backgrounds, whether meeting Helen Keller when exploring the senses, listening to Stevie Wonder, considering Boudicca’s leadership, or critiquing Barbara Hepworth’s sculptures.
